My April Date Night | Boise Bard Players @ The Handlebar
In April's Not Your Normal Date Night Ideas post I recommended you check out the Boise Bard Players showing of Taming of the Shrew. So, for our own date night this month we biked down to The Handlebar Boise for a Sunday afternoon showing.
For our date day, we packed in as much as we could cause we can never say no to adventure! We kicked off the surprisingly warm and sunny day with a small wander through the foothills with some friends. After a sufficient about of sun, PokΓ©mon, and wandering we got back on our bikes and headed for loaded bagel sandwiches at Blue Sky Bagel. It was the first time for us since coming back to Boise and was so freakin' delicious. They're an adventure staple for us!
We made sure to show up for the play a good 10 minutes early just to pick out our beer choices from The Handlebar's giant selection. Ended up with the Meriwether Blackberry Boom cider for me and an oatmeal stout for Koob.
To sum up the play simply, it was a blast! This company practices for the love of it, funds their costumes out of pocket and provides these awesome Shakespearean productions at no cost to the Boise community! So it was a major find. We loved getting to see one of Shakespeare's early creation brought to life in full by a passionate group of actors. Plus! We sat front row and became part of the play.
If you have a chance to check out a Boise Bard Players production I'd highly recommend it!
